Video: Porsche 911 laps around on Laguna Seca with Cayman R
It is like a family portrait taken on one fine day around the Laguna Seca during the Rennsport Reunion IV. Porsche recently released a video of a 2012 Porsche 911 chasing around a Cayman R around the track.
The drivers were Patrick Long of Porsche in the new 911 Carrera S and Leh Keen who is the champion of the Rolex Grand-Am GT.
Watch this awesome video below:
The 911 Carrera S has a 3.8L Boxer engine that can output 400 horsepower which is 15 horsepower more than its older version. This speed monster can blast from 0 to 60 miles an hour in a matter of 4.1 seconds or a heartbeat faster at 3.9 seconds when you have the Sport Chrono Package. The top speed of the Carrera S is pegged at 188 mph.
The Porsche 911 Carrera S chopped off around 100 pounds from the weight of its older version by using aluminum-steel components which makes most of the current build. The car is also wider with great aerodynamics having a slippery drag value of 0.29.
The Cayman R is also very potent at 330 horsepower at 7,400 rpm and can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.7 seconds. The top speed is recorded at 175 mph. The rear and front lift has been lowered by 40% and 15%, respectively. The power of the naturally aspirated flat six engine is transferred to the wheels by a 6-speed manual transmission. If you are too lazy to do the shifting, you can go for the 7-speed PDK automatic transmission with dual clutch.
