Infiniti Essence Debuts at the Geneva Motor Show

The stylish, two-seat, hybrid Essence concept car by Infiniti is sure to make a big splash in the European market. And even if Infiniti has yet to confirm if they will be producing the Essence model, its luxurious and curvaceous design will definitely be evident in future Infiniti models.
The Essence concept car carries Nissan’s 3.7-liter V6 engine, which produces 434 horsepower, partnered with dual turbochargers. Found between the transmission and the engine, is a starter-generator that conveniently adds another 158 horsepower. This add-on allows the Essence to accelerate at low speed using electric power.

Stylish being the operative word, Infiniti commissioned Louis Vuitton for the three-piece luggage set that fits snugly in the small trunk space. The luxurious black color scheme of the driver’s area reeks of a kick-ass sport-car feel while the passenger area is clad in an equally stylish and rich red color scheme.

Of course, the Essence carries many new technologies like the crash prevention system for the rear and sides. An alarm will go off warning the driver for possible crashes while an automatic brake system will kick off when the sensors perceive a solid object within its range. This will become useful when the driver tries to change lanes or backing up, especially on cramped parking spaces.
No promises have been made but it is assumed the Infinity will take on the Essence concept when other luxury automobile giants like Aston Martin and Bentley start producing new models despite the alarming world economy.
